V.SHIPS GREECE HEADQUARTERS

The project involves the complete reconstruction of a former complex of interconnected industrial buildings of varying heights, with a total area of 3,000 m². The intervention transforms the existing structures into the new headquarters of V.SHIPS GREECE, the main brand of V.GROUP, one of the world’s leading independent ship management companies.
Located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Piraeus, the project reinterprets the area’s industrial heritage, converting it into a contemporary and dynamic workplace that reflects the company’s global character and forward-looking identity.
The architectural strategy focused on upgrading the existing complex while preserving and highlighting its industrial character. Inspired by the morphological peculiarities of the original buildings, the design transforms these characteristics into defining spatial elements while emphasizing quality and aesthetics as key attributes of the modern workplace.
The undulating entrance roof, emerging from the height differences of the existing structures, becomes a strong symbolic gesture that references the movement and fluidity of the sea. This spatial transition gently guides visitors from the urban environment into the interior, creating a sense of continuity and calm.
The interior spaces are organized around an open-plan office layout that encourages collaboration and communication. Glass partitions introduce varying degrees of privacy while maintaining visual connectivity throughout the workplace. Natural light, textured materials, and a restrained color palette contribute to a calm and balanced working atmosphere that supports employee well-being.
A sculptural wooden spiral staircase leads to a café-lounge area that functions as a social hub within the office environment. Here, a large-scale artwork depicting the plan of a cargo vessel acts as a subtle reference to the company’s maritime activity, reinforcing the project’s conceptual narrative.
Flexibility and functionality were key design principles. The ground floor accommodates the main office areas, meeting rooms, and a double-height amphitheater that serves as a central space for presentations, training, and corporate events. Flexible partitions allow spaces to adapt to different operational needs over time. At the same time, exposed structural elements such as metal trusses and stone walls preserve the memory of the former industrial complex, creating an authentic dialogue between past and present.
