V.SHIPS GREECE headquarters are situated in the heart of Piraeus' oldest and highly industrial neighbourhoods. V.SHIPS is the primary market leading brand for V.GROUP, a global leader in ship management and marine services with over 35 years of experience.
The architectural design for V.SHIPS GREECE headquarters in Piraeus regards the transformation of a former complex of interconnected industrial buildings into a high end contemporary office space. Our initial objective was to honour the industrial heritage of the complex, while uplifting the buildings to meet contemporary workspace needs. The interiors reflect the global maritime company's vision, promoting a sense of togetherness and collaboration among its occupants. Upon entering the main entrance, a wave-shaped ceiling captivates your attention and navigates your gaze throughout the premises, creating a sense of tranquility and calmness. The ground floor encompasses the main office areas, meeting rooms and a double-height auditorium. Transparency and flexibility are key aspects of our design proposal. The open-plan character of the office areas encourages movement and spatial fluidity. Various degrees of privacy are achieved, wherever needed, with glass-enclosed adjacent offices. The aspect of flexibility is further enhanced by a moving partition wall in one of the semi-private glass offices, hence allowing the room to expand as needed. We preserved, wherever possible, exposed stone walls, retaining the building's industrial character. Structural elements like trusses, are also left exposed, alluding to the building's industrial past. The omnipresent neutral colour palette radiates an overall feeling of serenity and sophistication. A central wooden spiral staircase leads to the cafe level - a space for rest, where people can gather, take a break and enjoy the view of a vast ship floor plan artwork.
